She studied Economics at the University of Lagos before launching her acting career in 1996 with the film Images and gaining fame through the TV series Super Story.
Bukky has starred in many Nollywood films, winning awards such as Best Nollywood Actress of the Year in 2011.

Besides acting, she owns a fashion line, a beauty spa, and a media company, amassing an estimated net worth of $800,000. In 2014, she entered politics, running for the Ogun State House of Assembly.
Personal life
She has two sons, Olugbenga Jerry Amu-Wright, a Nigerian musician known as Ojay Wright, and Wilson, an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Bukky is also a grandmother, as one of her sons has children of his own.
