Teachers in primary and secondary schools in 15 states are yet to enjoy the N30,000 wage increase, three years after Buhari signed the Minimum Wage Act into law

Three years after President Buhari signed the National Minimum Wage Act into law, only 15 states and the FCT have implemented the N30,000 wage for teachers.

Labour leaders in Nigeria have urged the government to consider a review of the current N30,000 minimum wage to meet the reality of workers in the couuntry.

Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo on Sunday, May 1, announced that he has approved N40,000 as the new minimum wage for government workers in the southern state.
