FCT, Abuja - President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said his administration will create state police to decentralised the police force.
Tinubu declared that the security challenges confronting the country are not insurmountable.

As reported by TheCable, Tinubu stated this when he received a delegation led by Katsina State, Dikko Radda, on Tuesday, at the presidential villa in Abuja.

The President said he is reviewing all the aspects of security and he is looking at that holistically.
“I am reviewing all the aspects of security; I have to create a state police. We are looking at that holistically.
“We will defeat insecurity. We must protect our children, our people, our livelihood, our places of worship, and our recreational spaces. They can’t intimidate us.”
Tinubu ordered security agencies to review their operations in Katsina state following a surge in banditry in the state.
The President disclosed that the federal government would deploy advanced military hardware and surveillance gadgets in the state.
President Tinubu also asked for daily feedback on security operations in the state.
36 States Assembly Speakers Endorse State Police
Legit.ng earlier reported that federal lawmakers took a stance on the establishment of state police in Nigeria under Bola Tinubu's led government.
The development has received a major boost as the 36 Speakers of State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria on Thursday, May 16, backed the creation of state police in Nigeria
The Speakers made their position known at a meeting in Abuja and sent an important message to the leadership of the National Assembly.
Governors endorse state police
In a similar story, Legit.ng reported that no fewer than 16 Nigerian governors backed state policing following the spate of insecurity in Nigeria.
The National Economic Council confirmed the development to journalists in Abuja on Thursday, March 21 after the virtual meeting.
The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning Atiku Bagudu, also shared further details on the development.
