Vernell Varnado is a Vietnam War veteran, singer, mail carrier, and actor. He was drafted to serve in the Vietnam War when he was 18 and received a Purple Heart. His service as a soldier inspired Snoop, who considered joining the military after his high school education.
After his military career, Vernell Varnado became a mail carrier and later started singing gospel music in the 1980s alongside his four brothers. In the 2000s, he ventured into acting and has been featured in Make It Rain and All Eyez on Me.
