Gani Adams, born in Arigidi-Akoko, Ondo State, is a prominent Nigerian activist and the 15th Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland.
Raised in Lagos, he trained in furniture-making before joining the pro-democracy movement in 1992.
A founding member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) in 1994, he became the National Coordinator, advocating for Yoruba autonomy and cultural preservation.
Despite controversies over OPC’s alleged violence, Adams denies such claims, as he focuses on cultural and security contributions.
Married to Mojisola Adams, he promotes Yoruba festivals globally via the Oodua Progressive Union. His titles include Otunba of Arigidi and Jagunmolu of Igangan.
