The EFCC has reportedly invited a prominent member of the administration of President Bola Tinubu over an allegation of N585m financial misappropriation.

Inside sources in the EFCC have revealed that eleven ex-governors are currently under their radar for re-investigation for alleged fraud and money laundering.

Recent updates indicate that the trial of Olu Agunloye, a former Minister of Power and Steel Development, has commenced at the FCT High Court in Apo, Abuja.

The EFCC has secured the sentencing of Benjamin Ikaa before Justice Emeka Nwite of the federal high court, Abuja. Ikaa was sentenced to a five-year jail term.

The FCT High Court has declared that the former CBN boss Godwin Emefiele's prolonged confinement without a fair trial infringes on fundamental rights.

President Bola Tinubu on Monday, January 8, announced the suspension from office of Betta Edu, the minister of humanitarian affairs and poverty alleviation.

An invitation has been sent to Betta Edu by the EFCC. An official said the agency expects Edu to honour the invitation to give insight into the issue at hand.

Former minister, Sadiya Farouq, has arrived at the headquarters of the EFCC. The ex-minister is quizzed by the EFCC for an alleged N37.1 billion fraud.
