Education
She completed her primary and secondary education in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom, where she studied at City of Westminster College. She later earned a degree in Business and Mass Communication from London Metropolitan University.
Before returning to Lagos in mid-2008, Toolz gained valuable media experience working with MTV Europe and Walt Disney Pictures in the UK. In 2009, shortly after a friend told her about the launch of a new radio station, she auditioned for a presenter role at The Beat 99.9 FM — a move that would mark the beginning of her successful broadcasting career in Nigeria.
Career
In 2012, Toolz approached the organisers of Nigeria’s premier music awards, The Headies (formerly the Hip Hop World Awards), and proposed a new award category — ‘Rookie of the Year’ — aimed at recognising promising up-and-coming Nigerian music talents.
Toolz also served as a judge for the Channel O Music Video Awards in both 2011 and 2012. In April 2013, she was selected to host the West African edition of the globally renowned talent show, X Factor.
As the host of The Juice, a celebrity interview series by NdaniTV airing on Africa Magic Entertainment, Toolz has interviewed some of Africa’s biggest stars, including Yvonne Nelson, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Davido, and Rita Dominic.
Her influence in the media space has also been recognised through numerous magazine features. She has graced the covers of ThisDay Style, TW Magazine, Complete Fashion (twice), YNaija! Magazine, Allure, and My Streetz.
