The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council in Kogi state has described as false, claim that the party has abandoned the senator representing Kogi West senatorial district, Senator Dino Melaye, in his trying times.
Senator Dino Melaye, representing Kogi west senatorial district, has been moved from the Department of State Security (DSS) Hospital to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Headquarters at Guzape in Abuja by the police.
The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, on Saturday, January 12, said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is using intimidation (referring to Senator Dino Melaye's ordeal) to silence the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The ensuing drama between the Nigeria police and Senator Melaye continues unabated as the Kogi West senator allegedly passed the night on the floor outside the building housing the DSS medical facility in Abuja.
The Department of State Services has denied that its operatives abducted Senator Dino Melaye as alleged in some media. The security agency explained that the police brought Melaye to its medical facility for deserved attention.
Masked police officers on Friday, January 11, reportedly stormed the hospital where Senator Dino Melaye (representing Kogi west) was recuperating, carried him into an unmarked vehicle and whisked him off to DSS hospital.
