Breaking: Edo PDP Pioneer Chairman Is Dead, Details Emerge

Solomon Aguele's death: Edo PDP mourns

Aguele served as the PDP chairman between 1999 and 2007 in Edo state.

As reported by The Nation on Monday, August 18, the Edo state PDP confirmed this in a statement signed by its caretaker chairman, Anthony Aziegbemi, who said the late Aguele served the party with distinction and dedication.

According to the statement:

“Chief Aguele was a committed leader whose steadfastness, wisdom, and devotion to democratic ideals laid the strong foundation upon which our party continues to stand today. His leadership during the formative years of our great party in Edo State was pivotal to the growth and successes recorded.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, political associates, and all who mourn his departure. Chief Aguele will be remembered for his humility, loyalty, and enduring contributions to the PDP and the development of Edo state.”

Ondo PDP chairman dies

Similarly, Legit.ng reported that the PDP chairman in Ondo state, Fatai Adams, reportedly died on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Details of his death have not been disclosed as of the time of writing this report. Kennedy Peretei, the publicity secretary of the PDP in the Sunshine state, confirmed his death to journalists.

PDP chairman dies in Abuja

Relatively, Legit.ng reported that the former chairman of the PDP, Taraba state chapter, Chief Victor Bala Kona, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

Reacting to the sad development, the Taraba state PDP acting chairman, Alhaji Inuwa Bakari, confirmed Bala Kona’s passing, adding that he passed away after a protracted illness.

Jesutega: APC chieftain, Tinubu's ally, dies

Similarly, Legit.ng previously reported that Barrister Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), reportedly passed away on June 2025.

Jesutega Onokpasa, a prominent lawyer and political commentator, who was once an ally of President Bola Tinubu, reportedly died on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Pro-APC crusader, Okezie Atani, confirmed Jesutega Onokpasa's demise but did not disclose the cause of his death.
