Port Harcourt, Rivers state - A man simply identified as ‘Doctor’ has been arrested by the police for allegedly stabbed his female lover, identified as Ima, to death over allegations of infidelity in Mile 1 Diobu axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital.
It was gathered that the tragic incident occurred on Sunday, August 17, 2025, after the man accused his female lover of cheating on him.

The argument and altercation between both lovers rose to a fever pitch leading to the unfortunate incident.
As reported by The Punch, a resident in the area who spoke on condition of anonymity said the man reached for a knife and stabbed the woman, who reportedly bled to death.
“There was a crowd in the compound because of what happened. So the caretaker of the compound quickly rushed to the Azikiwe Police Division in Mile 2, Diobu to make a formal complaint about it and the man was arrested.”
A mammoth crowd gathered outside the Azikiwe Police Division on Monday morning when the corpse of the lady was brought to the station.
The State Police spokesperson, Grace Iringe Koko, disclosed the next-line of action after the incident and the arrest of the suspect.
“As we speak, the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department in Port Harcourt for discreet probe.”
