Tension as Bandits Kill Pastor, 2 Others in Fresh Plateau Attack

Bokkos LGA, Plateau state - Bandits have killed three people, including a pastor in Suwa and Ding’ak villages in the Mushere chiefdom of Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

It was gathered that the latest attack occurred between 1pm and 2pm on Friday, August 8, 2027.

The victims are identified as Pastor Gideon Katings of The Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) Suwa, Sunday Ringkang, and Meshach Bukata.

The Chairman of Community Peace Observers in Bokkos, Kefas Mallai, said several others sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital, Bokkos.

As reported by The Punch, Mallai further disclosed that hundreds of residents had been displaced due to the attack.

“Between 1:00 hours and 2:00 today, Friday, 8th August 2025, Suwa and Ding’ak villages in Mushere chiefdom of Bokkos LGA were attacked by terrorists, leading to the untimely death of three, including Pst Gideon Katings of COCIN Suwa, Sunday Ringkang, and Meshach Bukata; while Michael Kamshak and others were injured and are currently receiving treatment at Cottage Hospital Bokkos.
“Several residents in their hundreds have been displaced.”

The Friday killings are the latest in a series of violent attacks experienced in Bokkos and surrounding areas.

The State Police public relations officer, Alabo Alfred, could not be reached to comment on the tragic incident that has continued to get national and international attention

Recall that suspected Fulani militant groups on Friday, May 23, 2025, attacked two communities in Plateau State.

45 people killed in fresh Plateau attack

In a similar story, Legit.ng reported that no fewer than 45 persons were confirmed killed in a fresh attack in Zike hamlet, Kimakpa community, Kwall District, Irigwe Chiefdom of Bassa local government area, Plateau state.

Witnesses on the scene said sporadic gunshots were heard from multiple locations, and by morning, many corpses were recovered in the community.
