From Business to Politics

Before entering politics, Abiodun had a successful career in business. He founded Heyden Petroleum Limited, a notable player in Nigeria's oil and gas sector, and also established First Power Limited.

His entrepreneurial background provided him with a strong foundation for his political endeavours.

Governance and Achievements

As governor, Abiodun has focused on infrastructure development, education, and youth empowerment.

His administration launched the ISEYA (Infrastructure, Social Well-being, Education, Youth Empowerment, and Agriculture) agenda, leading to the construction of over 500 kilometres of roads, renovation of more than 1,000 schools, and the development of the Gateway International Airport.

Personal Life and Legacy

Abiodun is married to Bamidele Abiodun, a businesswoman and philanthropist, and they have five children.

In 2017, they tragically lost their son, Gbemiga Abiodun (DJ Olu), which deeply affected the family.

In his memory, Governor Abiodun established a scholarship scheme for 550 students, reflecting his commitment to education and youth development.
