Club Owner Donates Motorcycles to Players Ahead of The 2025/26 Football Season

In a bid to provide transportation for their team, a football club has donated motorcycles for their players ahead of the 2025/26 football season.

The football team played in the Nigeria National League (NNL) last season before gaining promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Barau FC donate motorcycles to players

The management of Barau FC has donated 35 motorcycles to the players, coaches, and technical crew.

According to Punch, the Deputy Senate President of Nigeria, Barau Jibrin, who doubles as the Club Owner, announced on Wednesday, August 13.

Barau also doled out the sum of N17.5 million to the players for gaining promotion into the Nigeria Premier Football League after beating Doma United 2-0 in their last playoff game.

In a statement, Barau said the club witnessed a great achievement by gaining promotion to the elite league after starting as an academy and climbing the ladder through the NLO and NNL. He said:

"Football is no longer recreation but a means of livelihood. We want to transform the club into an international standard and compete against teams like Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Former Nigeria U20 coach appointed Technical Adviser

Barau FC have unveiled a former Nigeria U20 (Flying Eagles) coach, Ladan Bosso as the new Technical Adviser of the newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

According to Nation Sports, the management believes the former Kano Pillars gaffer can turn the fortunes of the club and maintain their status in the elite league.

Bosso failed to renew his contract with Bayelsa United after an impressive 2024/25 season, which saw them finish in 11th position.
