Minna, Niger state - The National Examination Council (NECO) is set to release the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal examination results.

The examination body made the announcement on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the Council’s Headquarters in Minna, the Niger State capital.

The Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi, is expected to officially announce the results.

As reported by Nigerian Tribune, NECO regards the event as an epoch-making occasion.

NECO workforce are also expected to attend in large numbers at the Council’s Conference Hall.

NECO to hold Productivity Award Ceremony

NECO will also hold its Productivity Award Ceremony on Thursday, 18th September 2025, by 10 a.m. in Minna.

The newly retired staff members of the Council are expected to be honoured during the event.

In addition, the NECO Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) will present gift items to the retirees in appreciation of their service to the union.

The National Examinations Council (also known as NECO) is an examination body in Nigeria that conducts the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination and the General Certificate in Education in June/July and November/December, respectively.

NECO reduces English Language exam questions

Recall that NECO announced a plan to streamline the English language exam in the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).

The examination body said it will slash questions in the English Language Paper III from 100 to 80 from 2026 SSCE Internal exams.

The State Coordinator for Osun State, Sunday K. Bolaji, disclosed the six sections in the new paper structure.
