Tinubu respects me as Kogi governor, Buhari’s political son - Yahaya Bello

The governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has stated that the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, respects him as the governor of Kogi and as the political son of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to The Independent, the governor made the assertion via his director general of media publicity, Kingsley Fanwo, on Wednesday, April 17, during an interview on a Channels TV programme, Politics Today.

Legit.ng gathers that when asked if the governor’s second term is not being threatened by the APC national leader, Fanwo said: "Governor Yahaya Bello has tremendous respect for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

“Asiwaju Tinubu too also respects Governor Yahaya Bello as the governor of Kogi state and as the political son of President Muhammadu Buhari.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Governor Yahaya Bello declared his interest to contest for a second term in office.

The governor’s decision was contained in a statement issued by Onogwu Muhammed, his chief press secretary, on Wednesday.

The governor was quoted as saying he decided to seek a second term after consulting his family and political stakeholders.
