House of Reps Speaker Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, has commended President Tinubu for agreeing to the new minimum wage of 70,000 for the Nigerian workers.

Labour have threatened to embark on strike over FG's refusal to pay Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU)'s four months withheld salaries.

President Bola Tinubu will be transmitting the new national minimum wage to the National Assembly next week after meeting labour leaders on Thursday.

President Tinubu is expected to meet with labour leaders on Thursday, July 18, to resolve the new minimum wage dispute. A new national figure might be announced.

A fresh crisis has erupted in the Ondo state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress. Comrade Victor Amoko and Comrade Olapade Ademola claimed chairmanship position.

The federal government has noted that the new minimum wage dispute will be resolved next week. FG disclosed this after Tinubu met with NLC and TUC on Thursday.

After meeting with President Tinubu, Comrade Joe Ajaero, president of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has said the status quo on N250,000 as minimum wage stands.
