Following the victory, former Anambra State governor Peter Obi publicly celebrated Osimhen’s achievement, releasing a heartfelt message of praise on his official X account.

“I want to join other fans in congratulating one of Nigeria’s many talented exports, Victor Osimhen, for successfully leading Galatasaray S.K. to the Turkish Süper Lig title with a brilliant performance, scoring twice in the decisive victory that sealed the championship,” Obi wrote.

The 2023 presidential aspirant went on to describe the 2023 CAF Men’s Player of the Year winner as a symbol of national pride, highlighting his impact both on and off the pitch.

According to Obi, Osimhen’s journey reflects the importance of discipline, resilience, and opportunity in shaping global success stories.

Galatasaray urged to sell Osimhen

In another development, Legit.ng reported that Former Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin has sparked debate in Turkey after suggesting Galatasaray could be forced to cash in on Osimhen if Europe’s biggest clubs come calling with huge bids this summer.

Engin pointed to interest from elite sides such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, claiming offers around €120 million would be too significant to reject.
