“We’re the Best Team in the World”: Ex-Man United Star After Joining Chelsea

Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho has described Chelsea as the best club in the world.

Chelsea have confirmed the signing of the prolific player from Manchester United for the sum of £40m on a seven-year contract.

The 21-year-old was present at Stamford Bridge when the team beat Fulham 2-0, with goals coming from Brazilian forward Joao Pedro and Argentine Enzo Fernandez.

Garnacho unveiled at Chelsea

Former Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho turned down offers from potential suitors to join Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports, the Argentina international said he cannot wait to play at Stamford Bridge and that his impact will be felt.

The former Spain U18 described the Blues as a special team that has won all the available trophies. He said:

"I can't wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special - we're the best team in the world! It's amazing to be here and I'm very happy."

Chelsea beat Paris Saint-Germain to win the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in MetLife Stadium in the USA, with Cole Palmer scoring a brace and new signing Joao Pedro sealing the victory.

The London Club also won the 2025 UEFA Conference League after coming from behind to thrash Real Betis 4-1. The six-time Premier League winners also made history by becoming the first club to win all major European trophies.

Garnacho's record with Man United

Former Argentina U20 player Alejandro Garnacho scored 16 goals and made 63 appearances for Manchester United in the EPL.

According to the official website, the 21-year-old spent time at the academy of Getafe and Atletico Madrid before joining the Red Devils in 2020 at the age of 16.

In the 2023/24 season under former manager Erik ten Hag, the 21-year-old cemented his position as a starter in his former club, scoring seven goals in 36 matches.

The winger scored a dramatic brace in United's 4-3 victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
