Sanwo-Olu Bows to Pressure, Unblocks Top Nigerian Lawyer Who Sued Him for Blocking Him on Twitter

Sanwo-Olu invited the lawyer - Aide

The special adviser on media and publicity to the governor, Gboyega Akosile, revealed this via a post shared on his X page on Saturday, September 13.

Akosile tweeted:

"Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has again displayed leadership by inviting a citizen that sued him over the alleged blocking on X. To the Governor, every Lagosian is his citizen and the government-citizen engagement is his mantra. He engages with the citizens at every available opportunity. Thanks to my friend, @mrfestusogun for equally showing some high level maturity and understanding, and willingness to continue to engage constructively for the development of our dear State. Lawyer confirms meeting with Sanwo-Olu

Also, the lawyer, who had accused the governor of rights violations, announced the development in a post shared on his X page on Saturday, September 12.

According to him, Sanwo-Olu personally invited him for a brief meeting to address his complaints.

“Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unblocked me on X (Twitter). I met briefly with him yesterday at Lagos House Marina, on his invitation, to amicably resolve my complaint of human rights violations. We will continue to hold authorities accountable, regardless. Aluta continua!” Ogun wrote.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Festus Ogun took legal action against Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state for allegedly blocking him on Twitter in 2020.

Festus Ogun claimed the governor's action caused him mental stress and is asking the court to compel the governor to unblock and apologise.

Poverty in Nigeria: Sanwo-Olu blasts Peter Obi

In anotehr development, Legit.ng reported that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu accused Peter Obi of lacking the moral right to criticise Nigeria’s poverty situation, citing Obi’s record in Anambra state.

Sanwo-Olu argued that poverty worsened during Obi’s tenure as Anambra governor, while President Tinubu lifted millions out of poverty as Lagos governor.
