Boma claimed the ADC-led coalition launched in July was not a genuine alliance but a political vehicle designed to favour certain interests.
Legit.ng recalls that in July, Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, joined other opposition figures to unveil the coalition under the ADC banner as a platform to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. Atiku also aligned with the ADC.
However, over one month after the launch, Messrs Obi and Atiku are yet to officially become card-carrying members of the ADC.
Pastor Boma said:
“We need to pray and we need to ask God that the people that are not supposed to come for the 2027 election, let The Lord hide them.
"We are going to pray and say ‘Lord, we only need two faces in the ballot box’. What are the two faces? Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. And we also need the current president, His Excellency Tinubu. If these three people come out for the election, we are sure that Peter Obi will come out as a winner. But the way the situation is, we need to pray and say ‘God, scatter every plan of the ADC, let Peter Obi emerge as the presidential candidate’.”

2027 election: Activist warns against violence
Meanwhile, John Andah, the executive director of ImpactHouse Centre for Development Communication, warned politicians against resorting to violence and malpractices.
In a chat with Legit.ng, the civil society leader asked security agents to come down hard upon erring politicians.
He said:
"As we approach the 2027 general elections, it is imperative for all aspiring leaders to recognise that violence will never be tolerated as a bargaining tool in the pursuit of political ambition.
"Our democracy demands civility, respect for the rule of law and issue-based competition, where ideas, vision and service to the people, not intimidation or chaos, define the path to leadership."
