Former Taraba state governor, Jolly Nyame, has vowed to be a better leader if given a second chance to preside over the affairs of the state.

Nyame, who spoke at a thanksgiving service at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) secretariat in Jalingo, Taraba state, also said he learned so much while serving jail terms in the Kuje correctional centre, Vanguard reported.

He declared that the experience had bestowed invaluable lessons, shaping him into a better potential leader for the people of Taraba state.

Nyame stated:

“I learned a lot while in Kuje Prison and the hospital. If given another opportunity to lead the people of Taraba state, I will do better because of the experience I have gained.”

He stressed the significance of faith and resilience. The ex-governor also advised leaders to stand strong in the face of challenges.

Ex-governor emphasises importance of prayer after returning from Kuje prison

Amid personal reflections, he delivered a message of hope and unity for Nigerians, emphasising the importance of prayer and faith in the nation’s future.

On his journey, Nyame urged Nigerians to be prudent in their expenses, while calling on the government to prioritise policies that enhance citizens’ lives.

Nyame, who served only four years of a 14-year sentence, asserted that his imprisonment was politically motivated.

Taraba: Court of Appeal set to deliver judgment on PDP Governor Kefas' victory

Legit.ng earlier reported that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja is reportedly set to deliver its judgment on the NNPP's appeal against the victory of PDP Governor Agbu Kefas at the Taraba's tribunal.

Recall that the appellate court has sacked two governors of the PDP, a development criticised by the party's presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, who faulted the APC and federal government.

The PDP governors have said they have confidence in the judiciary and expressed optimism about getting a favourable judgment at the Supreme Court.
