2023: APC Chieftain Gololo Canvasses for Osinbajo, Zulum Ticket

FCT, Abuja - A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Garus Gololo has canvassed for Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo and Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Zulum to be the presidential and vice presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 general elections.

Gololo made the recommendation in an interaction with journalists including a Legit.ng reporter in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Tuesday, November 30.

According to him, the joint ticket of the vice president and the Borno state governor will ensure the stability and rapid development of the country.

He advised the Nigerian populace not to be deceived or easily swayed by the array of those seeking to be elected president in 2023 but to be circumspect and support only those with track record of integrity and performance.

Gololo maintained that the will of the people was paramount and should be well utilized in the 2023 general elections.

He said the direct primaries initiative as contained in the electoral bill by the National Assembly was the way to go and should be signed into law by the president without delay.

According to the APC chieftain, direct primaries would empower the masses to decide who leads them.

2023: Group Vows to Mobilise 20 Million Votes for Osinbajo

In a related development, a northern youth group, Osinbajo Awareness Campaign (OAC), has launched a campaign to galvanise support for the vice president ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The group recently unveiled a platform to mobilise 20 million youths across the 19 northern states and Federal Capital Territory in solidarity with Osinbajo.

Speaking at the launch of its Kano secretariat and campaign vehicles on Sunday, October 17, the national coordinator of the group, Mubarak Haruna declared that Nigeria needs a highly patriotic and genuinely detribalised leader like Osinbajo who can drive the country to greater heights.

Similarly, the Progressive Consolidation Group (PCG) has insisted that Osinbajo is the best-qualified person to succeed President Buhari in 2023.

The group made this known via its convener, Aliyu Kurfi, in a letter to the National Caretaker Committee Chairman of the APC and Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni.

The letter was in response to the APC's recognition of the PCG as a support group within the party.
