"Did you reported the transaction as erroneous one on opay????"

"If I'm honest, it's easy for me to know that there are a lot of honest people out there. Many people are so honest to a fault, and many of these people are not reciprocated. Says more about why people turn bad because of what they've had to take."

"My number starts with 090.....and I mistakenly recharged my account to 080..... that we share the same digit. I playfully called the number and told him what happened. He confirmed he got the recharge and promised he will buy recharge card and send back to me in the evening.'

"I made an erroneous transfer, reported to both banks, moratorium was placed on the account, before I could get a court order to reverse the money, the account owner withdrew the money and hasn’t used the account again, someone’s money ooh."

Legit.ng reached out to the lawyer in the viral OPay transaction story, who introduced himself as Muhammed Adam.

Reflecting on the unusual experience, Adam noted that the rare act of honesty he encountered was what stood out most.

He said:

“Honesty pays. Because it’s a common thing that when people say they send money into wrong accounts, the recipients usually never return the money. We have also had instances of people who were arrested for spending money that was wrongly sent to their accounts. But this particular lady was honest enough to go the extra mile to reach out to me, and I compensated her."

Speaking further, Mr. Adam offered a piece of advice to Nigerians who may find themselves in similar situations.
