Her motivation came from a long-held passion for jewelry-making, which she had initially explored as a teenager.

Years ago, she started a retail jewelry business, but it didn't feel right, causing her to switch to making jewelry from scratch.

Despite applying for a scholarship to a school in Italy, she turned it down due to financial constraints and fear of taking the leap.

She finally quit her job and invested fully in jewelry business, often questioning her decision and facing self-doubt at the beginning.

Her determination kept her going, and she now invites others to join her on this journey, sharing her experiences and lessons learned.

In her words:

"I just made my first biggest girl purchase. Let's go pick it up. Imagine quitting your job then using almost half of the money you have saved to buy tools for a business you know nothing about. This is either the best decision I've ever made or the craziest. I don't even know where to start, but let me just start from the beginning. When I was 17, I was home for 2 years before university. I used to walk into this beach store near me. I would look around, touch things and ask the owner all kinds of questions, acting like I was about to spend serious money. I wasn't buying anything, how much did I even have? But what I was doing was I was studying her work, right? She made jewelry from beats and that caught my interest. But one day I took my savings, walked in there and asked her to give me everything a beginner needed to get started. I bought it all, and 3 weeks later I made 3 sets of jewelry. My mum bought one as an encouragement and she sold the other 2 to her customers. That was my first business. I was just 17 years old and that made me very proud. Then university started, I just dropped it. You know how it is, life just moves on and you move with it. Fast forward 2018, years after uni, I started a retail jewelry business, ordering from suppliers and reselling, and it was fine for a while, but then it started to feel off, like I was leaving someone else's room. So I told my family I want to actually make jewelry from scratch with my hands. 2023, I researched schools, applied for a scholarship to a school in Italy and I got it, but I refused it because it wasn't fully funded and it meant I would have to quit my job and I just couldn't do it at the time. I was still afraid to do all that.

"I still think about that sometimes, honestly. But 3 months later, I found a jury school here in Nigeria and it took me 2 days to say yes. I signed up and yes, it was a bumpy ride and I will tell you all about it later. Past 2025, I quit my job and I spent over 4 million naira on tools to build my jury business from scratch. This table, right here, everything on it represents so much. There were days I sat here and questioned everything, did I make the right decision? There were days I had to motivate myself, days I thought myself out of it. I considered selling everything and just going back to what I knew. I have screamed at myself at this table, I have also prayed here, but I'm still here and that's why I'm inviting you in. Before it's polished, before I have it all figured out, because this series is called Building Brick by Brick with you. You're not coming in at the highlights, you're coming in at the foundation. I have built my career as a 9-to-5 survivor and I have learned so much along the way. Right now, I'm learning about building a creative business. I will be talking about mindset, about staying accountable to the thing you said you wanted, for how challenging it was. With my life and journey, it has been, but today, we're just setting up the table. Because nothing gets built until you set up the table. Zachariah 4 verse 10 says, do not despise the day of small beginnings. I used to read that and just... not now, I actually know what it means. This workstation, these tools, this is my small beginning. I am not ashamed of it, not even a little bit."
