The Baba Said They Can't Use Me: Nigerian Man Narrates How He Escaped From Ritualists, Says He Saw Human Parts

On December 8, 2020, Emmanuel Oluwafemi Kayode boarded a taxi in Akobo, Ibadan, Oyo state going to Bodija, but he woke up inside a thick forest in Ogun state.

He, alongside two other passengers, who were later killed, was kidnapped by ritualists and he said he didn't know how he got into the forest.

Narrating the shocking story on Twitter, Emmanuel said when he woke up in the forest, he saw human parts severed by the ritualists.

They said they can't use me

According to him, there was an argument as to whether he too should be killed or allowed to go free.

He said the baba (native doctor) who seemed to be in charge asked the boys to return him unharmed because he cannot be used.

Emmanuel said:

"They brought the suggestion: "Can we erase his memory? Maybe we should just waste him." He told them he was begging them if they didn't want everything they had worked for to no avail, they should return me in peace.
"I must be whole, and he told them that if I woke up before they returned, there was nothing he could do to make me sleep again because initially, I shouldn't have slept off. They later agreed to return, but they were finalizing some arrangements."

How he escaped

When they continued to argue about what to do with him, Emmanuel said he tiptoed and found his way out of the forest. He said he was helped to the park in Ogun state by a stranger who also paid his fare to Oyo state.

Legit.ng reached out to Emmanuel for a comment on the story and he said it was a traumatic event and that he still has flashes of it to date.

When Legit.ng sort to know why he did not report the matter to the police, Emmanuel said:

"I was glad I survived and the trauma that came with it then. I wasn't interested in some set of people asking me questions upon questions."
