Dare I say, everyone on the planet knows who The Man of Steel is. The fictional superhero first appeared in American comic books published by DC Comics, and was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster. 1. Bud Collyer
Bud Collyer was the first actor to portray The Man of Steel in the media (both on the radio and in the classic cartoons from the Fleischer and Famous studios).
The actor played The Man of Steel for roughly 2000 radio episodes that aired between 1940 and 1951.
He then returned to the role in 1966 for Filmation’s The New Adventures of Superman animated series.
As the only Superman of radio, the silver screen, and television, he has logged more hours as the Man of Steel than any actor in history.
