Real Madrid eventually opened the scoring in the 56th minute following a lovely move by Benzema who laid it off to Mendy, who ran down the left and crossed low, and Vinicius sprinted to beat his man and slid the ball past Bounou; 0-1.

Complacent from the returning goalkeeper as it was adjudged to be an own goal.
