As part of the plans to see him remain at the Spanish club, one of their presidential candidates has promised to name the iconic Camp Nou after Messi if he is elected president.

While they vow to bring quality players to the club in a bid to remain competitive across Europa having gone without winning anything last season.

They lost the league to rivals Real Madrid while they were humiliated by Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the Champions League.

And this got the Argentine really angry and plotted to leave them in August but everything appears normal as the club hopes he will sign a new deal in January.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona's temporary president Carles Tusquets says he would have allowed Lionel Messi to leave the club in the summer.

The 33-year-old made attempts to dump the Catalan club a few months back due to a number of issues he has with the former boss.

But his heavy release clause made it difficult for the Argentine to walk away from his contract despite having 12 months left on the deal in August.
