4 Nigeria Premier Football League Clubs to Get ₦616 Million From Continental Tournament

Nigeria Premier League Champions Remo Stars, Rivers United, Abia Warriors, and Kwara United will receive financial support of ₦616 million (₦154 million each) in the preliminary round of the 2025/26 Interclub tournament.
Remo Stars, Rivers United and Abia Warriors qualified for the competition after the completion of the 2024/25 NPFL, while Kwara United won the President's FA Cup.

A record-breaking 120 Football Clubs across the African Continent will participate in the CAF Champions League (62 teams) and CAF Confederation Cup (58 teams) season.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the funding is to support the various clubs in covering logistics for the first two rounds of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League, per Sports Village Square.
The first-leg matches of the CAFCL and CAFCC take up from September 19 to 21, while the return legs are scheduled for September 26 to 28.
Remo Stars, Rivers United get opponents
2024/25 Nigeria Premier League winner Remo Stars will face US Zilimadjou of Comoros, while runner-up Rivers United battles DR Congo champions (between Aigles, Lupopo, and Maniema U.) in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.
According to Punch, the draws for the Interclub competition took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on Saturday afternoon, August 9.
Remo Stars will begin their campaign against US Zilimadjou in Ikenne before proceeding to the second leg in Comoros. Should the NPFL champions progress, they will face Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in the second preliminary round.
Meanwhile, suppose former NPFL Champions overcome their opponent in the first round. In that case, they will lock horns with AC Leopards of Congo or Black Bulls of Mozambique in the second preliminary round, per Daily Post.

Abia Warriors, Kwara United to face tough opponents in CAFCC
2024/25 President's FA Cup winner, Kwara United, will kick off their campaign against Ghana's Asante Kotoko in the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
According to New Telegraph, the Harmony Boys will face Wydad Club Athletic of Morocco in the 2nd preliminary round if they scale through the Ghanaian hurdles.
Meanwhile, Abia Warriors will take on Djoliba Athletic Club of Mali in the first round and stands a chance of facing Gbohloé-su des Lacs of Togo in the 2nd preliminary round.
CAF has done well - Oluwafemi
Nigeria Sports journalist, Adeyemi Oluwafemi, said the leadership of CAF has set a standard for African football for financial support.
Speaking in an exclusive comment with Legit.ng, Oluwafemi said the funds will serve as a subsidy for teams who are struggling to get funds from their government or other investments. He said:

Remo Stars win the 2024/25 NPFL
