Mubi, Adamawa State - Former Adamawa state governor and serving senator Muhammed Umar Jibrilla Bindow has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), completing his re-registration at his ward in Mubi, the commercial hub of Adamawa state.
Bindow previously sought a second term ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) before he withdrew from the governorship race in May 2026.

The exercise was conducted in the presence of Mubi ward APC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Guruja, on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
As reported by Daily Trust, it was attended by a large gathering of supporters, family members, friends, and political associates who turned out to mark the occasion.
Bindow cites consultations and party principles
Bindow said his return followed extensive consultations with his political associates and confidants, and was consistent with his long-standing commitment to party discipline.
He told those gathered that he had been careful throughout his time away from the APC to avoid any conduct that could be interpreted as anti-party activity.
The former governor disclosed that he held discussions with Vice President Kashim Shettima, whom he described as a brother and confidant, before finalising his decision.
He also recounted a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu, calling it "a pleasant and memorable one" and noting that the President expressed happiness at his return to the fold.
Bindow added that several former colleagues, aides, and supporters had repeatedly urged him to come back to the APC and continue his political work under the party's platform.

Bindow pledges support for APC in 2027
At the event, Bindow threw his weight behind all APC candidates for the 2027 elections, specifically urging voters to support President Tinubu at the federal level and Ahmad Tijjani Galadima in the Adamawa governorship race.
He was clear that personal ambition played no part in his return.
In a statement issued via Shamsudeen Ibrahim, New Media Aide to Bindow, and shared on @Pharmacio001, the former governor said he is back in the APC to work with the party and its candidates toward victory.
"I am back to the APC not to divide, but to contribute; not to fight, but to build; and above all, to work with the party and its candidates toward victory."
Bindow speaks on returning to APC
Recall that Senator Bindow received a visit from former Deputy Governor Babale, discussing a return to the APC.
Babale appealed to Senator Bindow to return to the ruling APC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Bindow remains non-committal about his future political decisions amid party speculation.
PDP's 2-time state chairman joins APC
Meanwhile, Legit.ng also reported that Tanko Beji, former two-term PDP chairman in Niger State, officially crossed to the APC after a period away from active politics.
Beji held several senior party roles, including Legal Adviser, Zonal Chairman, and Acting National Youth Leader during his time with the PDP.
The Niger State APC confirmed his defection in an official statement, describing the move as a significant development for the party.
