Wike’s Aide Blows Hot Over Tambuwal’s Comment, “What a Betrayal”

FCT, Abuja - The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, stated that his principal will respond to the former Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, accordingly.

Legit.ng recalls that Tambuwal said that he would support former Vice President Atiku Abubakar over Wike, if he had to choose who should lead the country.

Tambuwal claimed that his political choices had always been guided by principles of leadership and not by personal relationships.

Olayinka said Wike won't let Tambuwal's latest diatribe against him and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu go unresponded to.

Wike’s aide said Tambuwal also attacked the person of President Tinubu during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today last Friday.

He said Wike will address Nigerians and tell the people what a betrayal Tambuwal is and what it means to have integrity.

In a statement issued on Monday, September 8, 2025, via his X handle @OlayinkaLere Olayinka said:

"I have been inundated with calls, especially from journalists, seeking the Minister's reaction.
"Apart from what he said against the Minister, Tambuwal also cast aspersions on President Tinubu, and such will not go unresponded to.
"Therefore, what I can say is that the Minister will respond accordingly. He will definitely tell Nigerians what a betrayal is and what it means to have integrity.

Wike will deliver FCT for Tinubu’s 2027 re-election

Recall that a public affairs analyst, Donald Okwuosa, listed ways Wike can secure the victory of President Tinubu's re-election in 2027.

Okwuosa said Wike has many advantages he can exploit to deliver the FCT for Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027.

Legit.ng reports that President Tinubu is seeking a second term in office amid a plot by the coalition forces to unseat him in 2027.

“Why Wike cannot be Nigeria’s president”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that amid the debate about Tinubu's re-election, Dare Glintstone Akinniyi, spokesperson for the New Democratic Frontiers (NDF), explained why Wike cannot lead Nigeria.

Akinniyi, in an interview with Legit.ng, stated that at that critical juncture in the nation's polity, a leader like Wike, who had limited regard for Nigeria's interests, was not fit to rule the nation.
