FCT, Abuja - President Bola Tinubu recently reversed the new appointments at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Legit.ng reports that this is not the first time that the Tinubu-led administration will reverse itself on appointments.

In August, Tinubu relieved Muheeba Dankaka of her role as executive chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), hours after her reappointment for a second five-year term was announced by the presidency.
In this article, Legit.ng highlights eight times Tinubu revoked appointments:
1. In August, President Tinubu reappointed Muheeba Dankaka as chair of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) but replaced her hours later with Ayo Omidiran.
2. Asu Okang was named to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board in 2024, only to be replaced by Orok Otuk Duke.
3. Ruby Onwudiwe’s Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) board appointment was withdrawn over her Labour Party (LP) affiliation.
4. On March 18, Tinubu asked the senate to reverse the nomination of two Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs), just six days after forwarding their names.
5. Ibrahim Kashim Imam was appointed ederal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) board chairperson on October 13, 2023, but his appointment was withdrawn two days later.
6. Idris Olorunnimbe’s Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) board chairmanship was cancelled in July and replaced with Tanko Al-Makura.

7. Maryam Shetty was dropped as a ministerial nominee on her screening day and replaced with Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure.
8. The appointments of Rotimi Pedro (DG, NTA), Stella Din-Jacob (executive director, News), and Karimah Bello (executive director, Marketing) were reversed less than two weeks after they were announced.
Tinubu speaks on ambassadorial appointments
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has revealed the difficulty and delay in appointing Nigerian ambassadors.
Tinubu said he cannot appoint just anybody, hence the difficulty in releasing the list.
Stressing that he still has some ambassadorial slots, Tinubu appreciated Nigerians for their patience.
In a video, President Tinubu said he needs to cure the state economy and bring hope to Nigerians before unveiling his ambassadors.
Guardian quoted the president as saying:
“I couldn’t appoint everybody that I could have appointed, thank you for your patience till now. I still have some slots for ambassadorial positions that too many people are craving for, but it’s not easy stitching together those names.
“First of all, cure the economy, bring hope to the people as that is what we stop for and that hope is here, thank you for believing in me."
Tinubu announces 3 appointments
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that President Tinubu appointed Abdurrazaq Nakore the pro-chancellor and chairman of the governing council of Yusuf Maitama Sule Federal University of Education, Kano.
The president also appointed Prof. Abdullahi Tukur Kodage as vice chancellor (VC) of the university.
President Tinubu also named Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure the vice chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Kaduna state.
