Foreign engagements focused on growth for Nigeria - Tinubu
In a post shared on his official page on X, Tinubu, after returning from visits to Japan and Brazil, said every handshake and agreement abroad was aimed at securing opportunities that translate into growth, jobs and prosperity for Nigerians.
He highlighted new ties in Japan that will bring investment in industry, technology and human capital, and fresh partnerships in Brazil across trade, agriculture, aviation and finance.
Tinubu added that despite ongoing challenges, his government is building what he calls a “new Nigeria” based on sustainable reforms, confident abroad, resilient at home, and outlive his administration.

"It feels good to be back home in Nigeria after our recent engagements in Japan and Brazil.
"In 2023, you entrusted me with the responsibility of restoring our pride and dignity on the global stage, and I remain fully committed to that mission. Every handshake, every agreement, and every meeting is guided by one goal: to secure opportunities that translate into growth, jobs, and prosperity for Nigerians," Tinubu stated.
Tinubu calls on Nigerians abroad
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that in Japan, President Tinubu marketed his "harsh reforms" and urged Nigerians abroad to contribute to the nation's development.
Tinubu expressed excitement and revealed that Nigerians abroad are returning home, even though some might decide to stay far away from home due to economic reasons.
The president encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora, including leaders, to unite and work for the development of Nigeria.
Tinubu’s reforms will make Nigerians abroad return
Similarly, Legit.ng reported that the minister of Youth and Development, Ayodele Olawande, stirred a fresh debate in the polity after speaking out about the reforms by the Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration.
Ayodele Olawande, at a recent event, had claimed that Tinubu's reforms will soon attract Nigerians living abroad back to the country and shared their hot takes regarding the minister's statement.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that the presidency clarified President Bola Tinubu's visit to Saint Lucia, in response to what it described as “misguided, mischievous, and uninformed” commentary by some Nigerians.
The presidency noted that Tinubu's visit is deeply rooted in diplomatic imperatives that seek to reconnect Nigeria with its diaspora and expand South-South cooperation.
In a statement by a presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, the presidency countered Peter Obi of the Labour Party, who affirmed that this is not the time for Tinubu to go on vacation.
