Speaking when he appeared as a guest on Channels TV’s ‘The Morning Brief’ programme on Tuesday, August 26, Adibe said:

“I wouldn’t want to advise Peter Obi; he has his own advisors. At the end, he has to make his own decisions, but if I were him, I would be extremely suspicious.”

Atiku, from northern Nigeria, has shown interest in running for president in 2027.

However, many have considered his move as a threat to southerners like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi, who are also members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition and are running for president in 2027.

But speaking on Tuesday, the professor described Obi as someone who does not think on the surface but always has a second plan for his decisions.

It's a chess game: Professor tells Obi

As reported by Leadership, Adibe said Obi’s journey to political victory would require active vigilance and deep thinking to prevent loss, adding that he believes the whole structure is like a play.

He said;

“In the end, like any chess game, it may work and it may not, but we don’t know, and in all this, it is a tug of war.”
