A public administrator, Donald Okwuosa, has warned Peter Obi against returning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 presidential elections.

Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in 2023, was the running mate to Atiku Abubakar under the PDP platform in 2019.

Fayose makes bold prediction on who will win in 2027: "He needs little votes from north"

He stated this during an exclusive chat with Legit.ng on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

“PDP is in ruins right now. Those money bags in the PDP (Atiku, and the likes) are rooting for the ADC. What is left for Obi in the PDP?
“Obi made his debut in 2023 under the umbrella of the Labour Party, polling such numbers. If he remains in the LP, he would garner many more followers, hence, his popularity and ability to win more followers in the core north.”

He discouraged Obi from defecting from LP to PDP, where he is guaranteed a presidential ticket to contest the 2027 elections.

According to Okwuosa, the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, will mess Obi up in the PDP.

He described the report of Obi returning to PDP as a trap for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be re-elected in 2027.

Okwuosa, who is also a writer, said the outcome will be similar to the 2023 election should Obi contest under the PDP platform.

“His ticket under the LP is guaranteed. Jumping from party to party oozes an air of desperation.
“He stands a chance under the Labour Party to make a strong bargain for the coalition, offering him a platform to run for the Presidency.
“Wike would mess him up in the PDP. Getting Obi to join the PDP is a trap. Once he joins, an automatic sail for Tinubu in 2027, as Atiku would hold sway in the ADC, repeating the same blunder (vote sharing) of 2023.”
