FULL LIST: PDP Appoints Caretaker Committee for Lagos State

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the appointment of a caretaker committee.

The party in a statement seen by Legit.ng said the committee will oversee the affairs of the Lagos state chapter of the PDP.

Signed by the national organising secretary, Austin Akobundu, the statement by the party said the decision of the National Working Committee (NWC) is pursuant to its powers under Sections 29(2)(b) and 31(2)(e) of the PDP Constitution, 2017 as amended.

The party said the committee is charged with the responsibility of running the affairs of the PDP in the state.

Akobundu said the responsibility of the committee members is in line with the provision of Section 21(2)(a-b) of the PDP Constitution, for a period not exceeding 90 days (three months) until a new executive committee is elected.

9. Hon. Ade Adeniyi, Secretary

In addition, all stakeholders, leaders and members of the PDP in Lagos and Nigeria as a whole have been urged to be guided by this new development accordingly.

Reconcilation between Bola Tinubu and Bode George

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has called on PDP politicians to work towards reconciling Bode George and Bola Tinubu.

Igbokwe referred to Bode George as the only PDP heavyweight that is yet to decamp to the ruling APC or other parties that have joined to form the party.

He also said that should peace be brokered between George and Tinubu there would be an improved development in Lagos state.

PDP's reaction to #ENDSARS report submission

Also, in a reaction to the newly submitted Lagos Judicial Panel of Inquiry, the PDP has condemned the ruling APC.

The party described APC as a murderous and oppressive regime in which agents must be brought to book.

PDP leadership also called for the arrest and prosecution of those who perpetrated the criminal activities at the Lekki Toll Gate on October 20, 2020.
