A Nigerian lady secured an interview for a backend engineer role even though applications for the position had already closed. She explained the strategy she used after discovering the role on LinkedIn.

The CTO responded to her message, requested her CV, and eventually scheduled her for an interview. However, she has not confirmed whether she got the job as she is still in the interview stage.
The young lady shared the story on her social media page, @starfire_barbie, on X (formerly Twitter). Explaining her strategy, she wrote:
"I saw a role on LinkedIn I loved but it was closed. Went through the people section of the company, deduced the likeliest person to be the CTO, sent him this absolute banger of a cold DM, got a CV request then an assessment link and interview invite."
