Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president of Nigeria, has mourned the demise of his childhood friend and longstanding political ally, Yakubu Tsala (Shetima Mubi).

The former vice president mourned the demise of his political associate in a social media post on Thursday, October 9, adding that their friendship began when they were in secondary school at the Government Secondary School Ganye.

Atiku recalled that his childhood friend had a successful public service career as "he served the country in different capacities as Chairman of the Lake Chad Research Institute and Director of the Board of National Boundary Commission."

Atiku to join Sowore's campaign

Legit.ng earlier reported that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has called for the release of the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

Atiku said he supports human rights activist Omoyele Sowore’s campaign to free Kanu from detention.
