“Now we are back in that political season again, and the same issues are still happening,” the host said.

In response, the singer offered a surprising take.

“We are better off than many years ago. Just look at it,” he said.

Beyond his comments on the country, 2Baba also spoke about his involvement in civic engagement and hinted at a deeper role in shaping Nigeria’s future.

2baba's comment lacks nuance

A public affairs analyst, Ayo Adeleke, opined that 2baba lacked nuance in his comment.

He stated:

"2Baba’s comment was not necessarily insensitive, but it lacked nuance given the widespread economic hardship many Nigerians currently face. While Nigeria may have improved in certain institutional or democratic aspects, public sentiment is shaped more by rising living costs, insecurity, and unemployment."
