For Nollywood actor Wale Akorede, popularly known as Okunu, the past week was nothing short of a miracle.
After eight years of living apart from his family, the comic star finally reunited with his wife, children, and close relatives in Canada.
In the clip shared on his Instagram page, the actor arrived at a Canadian airport, visibly emotional as he spotted his family waiting.

His wife, Wunmi Akorede, and their children could not contain their excitement as they ran toward him, hugging him tightly and handing him bouquets of flowers.
Draped in the Maple Leaf
As the family made their way home, Okunu was seen wrapped in Canada’s national flag, wearing a smile that spoke volumes. It was a picture of relief, gratitude, and the deep bond that distance could not weaken.
The actor captioned the video:
"Alhamdulillah!!! God did! After 8 years apart, my family is finally whole again in Canada. No distance, no time, nothing keeps a family’s love apart. Canada feels more like home now that I am with my family."
Okunu's celebrates daughter's achievement
Legit.ng reported in 2023 that one of Okunnu's daughter graduated from the university in Canada and the actor took time to celebrate her.
On his official Instagram page, the movie star announced that his daughter, Balikis Ayomide Akorede, had graduated from her university in Canada.
Not stopping there, the movie star went ahead to reveal that she had graduated with honours in Biotechnology. He also used the opportunity to thank God for his daughter’s achievement as he congratulated her
He wrote:
"Nothing to say than ALIHAMDULIAHI for his favors on my family, we have to rejoice on Balikis Ayomide Akorede for her graduation today @realjumkie in Biotechnology with Honours . Once again, Glory be to Almighty Allah. Congratulations my darling Daughter, more of it Insha Allah."
