May Edochie Slams Heavy Demands on Ex-Lawyer, Yinka Theisen in Dramatic Lawsuit

The drama surrounding May Yul-Edochie, estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has taken a sharp legal twist.
May, through her legal representatives, Graylaw Partners, has reportedly issued cease-and-desist notices to her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, and US-based Yinka Omolola Theisen, the ex-fiancée of Yul’s brother, Linc Edochie.
The move followed what May described as months of alleged cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and online defamation.

May's legal battle with Yinka, lawyer
According to reports by Newsdish.ng shared by her fan base, May Nation, the letters accused both individuals of publishing damaging content about May across social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and X.

The actress claimed the online posts had caused severe harm to her reputation, brand partnerships, and business ventures.
In separate letters to Ugwuonye and Theisen, her lawyers demanded, an immediate halt to the posts, A public apology and full retraction on every platform where the alleged defamatory statements appeared and financial compensation, ₦1 billion from Ugwuonye and ₦500 million from Theisen.
The letters gave a 48-hour deadline for compliance, warning that failure to act would push Queen May to commence both civil and criminal proceedings.
Part of the letter read:
“Our client has suffered severe and irreparable harm as a result, and she will not stand by and allow this misconduct to continue"
Why Ugwuonye and Theisen?
Ugwuonye, who once served as May’s lawyer, reportedly terminated his professional relationship with her in June, citing harassment from her fans.
May’s legal team now alleged s he acted unprofessionally, mishandled confidential information, and amplified damaging narratives against her.
As for Theisen, the US-based ex-fiancée of Linc Edochie, she was accused of consistently fueling negative conversations about May online and encouraging others to do the same.
Yinka Theisen fires back
While Ugwuonye has remained silent so far, Yinka Theisen wasted no time in mocking the legal threat.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote:
“Clowns! Bring it on deluded bunch of clowns. Just made my account public again! Clowns!!!”

May's lawyer clarifies co-parenting arrangement
Legit.ng earlier reported that Emeka Ugwuonye clarified the co-parenting relationship between his client, May Edochie, and her estranged husband, Yul Edochie.
He explained that since they share children, co-parenting is not only expected but required and said Yul was contributing financially and had full access to the children.
