VP Osinbajo visits wife of murdered APC chairman in Nasarawa state

- Osinbajo took out time to visit the wife of Late Philips Tatari Shekwo

- Shekwo was kidnapped and then killed last week, but his killer has been apprehended by the police

Nigeria's vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday, December 1 visited the wife of the murdered All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in Nasarawa state, Philips Tatari Shekwo.

A tweet posted by Osinbajo's media aide, Laolu Akande, shows the vice president in a video consoling with Mrs. Shekwo in their home in the north-central state.

Akande revealed that the vice president was accompanied on the visit by the governor of the state, Abdullahi Sule, and his predecessor, Senator Tanko Al-Makura.

The vice president's media aide also quoted his principal as saying to Mrs. Shekwo:

“We will have you & the children in mind.”

Legit.ng had earlier reported that Osinbajo stated that one of the needed steps to be taken to end random killings especially in the northern region is for the federal government to source local intelligence so as to gather more information on the issues of security.

He assured Nigerians that President Muhammadu Buhari is already looking at how to deal with the issues in more innovative and effective ways.

Meanwhile, Governor Sule has disclosed that the killer of the late APC chairman has been arrested by the police.

According to the governor, the killer, Mohammed Usman was arrested at Asakio, Lafia East local government and has since confessed to the crime after he was apprehended.
