LIVE UPDATES: Vote counting begins in Ondo governorship election
Residents of Ondo state on Saturday, October 10, cast their ballots at different polling units within the state to determine who will govern them for the next four years.

There are seventeen political parties battling for votes in the election, but the three main contestants are Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eyitayo Jegede of the rival Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi of the Zenith Labour Party.
The election has been largely peaceful except for few reports of violence in some polling units.
