Samson Siasia appeals life ban from football handed to him by FIFA

- Samson Siasia has appealed his life ban from football after being accused of match fixing scandal

- The former Nigerian international was slammed by the Court Arbitration for Sports in August

- Siasia won the Nations Cup with the Super Eagles in Tunisia as a player and won medals as coach with U23 as a coach

Samson Siasia has appealed the life ban handed to him by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) in Switzerland.

The former Super Eagles handler was banned by FIFA for his involvement in match fixing scandal and he was not given a fair hearing to defend himself for the allegations leveled against him.

Siasia's mum is currently being held hostage by kidnappers and they are demanding a ransom fee of N50million.

The 2008 Olympic sliver and Rio 2014 bronze medalist has submitted his statement of appeal to CAS and is pleading with the court to rescind FIFA's decision until his side of the story has been heard.

"We can only pray that Samson's appeal hit the right cords and he finally gets the fair hearing which never was particularly in a case for which he is being punished simply on 'motivated decision.

"Will this appeal give Samson the real strength he needs to beat the Delilah called FIFA Ethics Committee. All eyes are on CAS," remarked Obi.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that POAK midfielder Anderson Esiti is in line to make his debut for the Super Eagles in the international friendly against Ukraine

The combative midfielder has been called up to replace injured Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi who is currently nursing an hamstring injury.
