Suspected Boko Haram insurgents, on Monday morning, January 20, reportedly attacked Mallam Bukaranti village in Konduga local government area of Borno state. The insurgents carted away foodstuff and livestock from the village.
Residents in Borno, particularly those along Damaturu- Maiduguri road have cried out over the increased activities of Boko Haram in the state recently.

A gunfight between soldiers and insurgents in Borno state over the weekend has reportedly resulted in the deaths of a soldier and 4 insurgents. The battle reportedly occurred when the terrorists attacked a military checkpoint.
More than 1000 residents have reportedly fled their homes in Auno community of Konduga Local Government Area in Borno state following sustained attacks by Boko Haram insurgents along the Maiduguri/Damaturu Highways.
The United Nations is worried about the activities of Boko Haram insurgents at various checkpoints in the North-East. According to UN's Edward Kallon, people in the region and aid workers are more exposed to attacks.
