The tattoo had a detailed depiction of Osimhen as the fan endured the pain to have his idol crested on his body.
The former CAF Player of the Year, who signed a four-year deal with Galatasaray worth €15 million annually plus bonuses, expressed gratitude for such gestures.
The club's head coach, Okan Buruk, disclosed that Osimhen pushed to leave Napoli because of the fans in Istanbul.
The striker had offers from Italy, England, France and Saudi Arabia, but he decided to turn them down.
According to Buruk, Galatasaray supporters are treating the striker to a whole new experience. Buruk said via Yahoo:
"Galatasaray fans gave Osimhen the kind of love he’d never experienced before. That is why I always believed that he would stay. He hasn’t let us down either.
"Everyone put in a great deal of effort to secure this deal, starting from our President, but the most important part was done by the fans.
"They made Osimhen experience something special. We saw a similar outcome with Mauro Icardi’s transfer here."
Mosque renamed after Osimhen
Meanwhile, a group of Muslim faithful have reacted after a mosque in Istanbul was renamed after Super Eagles and Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen.
The former Lille of France striker is adored in Istanbul after impressing during his season-long loan spell, which prompted the club to sign him permanently from Napoli.
He arrived at the Ataturk International Airport in Istanbul on July 30 to a crowd of supporters who tracked his flights and welcomed him to the city.
Osimhen captured the hearts of Galatasaray fans even during his season-long loan as he helped the team to the Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
Controversy sparked outrage when Konya’s popular Bulut Mosque was renamed ‘Victor Osimhen Mosque’ on Google Maps, leaving worshippers upset.
