Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr have agreed to face each other in 2026, with an official date and venue yet to be announced.

Mayweather is coming into the exhibition match unbeaten in his 50 professional bout, while Tyson suffered 2 losses in his 59 professional fights.

The former Lightweight champion retired in 2017, while the heavyweight champion retired in 2005.

Mayweather downplays Tyson's threat

Former Welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. said he is not intimidated by the records of former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.

The 48-year-old had previously faced the likes of Logan Paul and John Gotti III since retiring from professional boxing in 2017.

Mayweather Jr. will take on one of the most brutal boxers of all time in an exhibition bout next year, with the location and venue not released.

In a viral post on IG, the unbeaten boxer said there is no man on earth who can make him afraid. He wrote:

"I Fear NO Man but GOD! Let’s Get It!! 💰."

According to Mirror, Mayweather said no boxer can tarnish his legacy, including Mike Tyson, who is in a higher weight class. He said:

"I've been doing this for 30 years and there hasn't been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy."

Tyson warns Mayweather

Mike Tyson has warned Floyd Mayweather to take into consideration his health status before engaging in the exhibition match.

According to sportBIBLE, the two-time National Junior Olympics champion said the bout is going to be unpredictable and detrimental to Mayweather Jr. The former WBC heavyweight champion said:

"This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen.
"However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable -- and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can't believe Floyd wants to really do this.
"It's going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it's signed and it's happening!"

Meanwhile, Tyson returned into the ring last year to face Jake Paul. He had previously engaged in an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Junior in 2020.
