2027: ADC offers electorate political hope - SEDEF
In a statement signed by its national president, Chris Ogbu, and endorsed by national publicity secretary, Charles Otu, SEDEF commended the coalition leaders for what it called “foresight in embracing the new national political rhythm.”
“As a group, we have carefully watched unfolding events and political dynamics across the nation and we wish to commend the leaders of opposition political parties for offering the electorate political hope and serving as alternative voices in our democracy,” the statement read in part.
The group added that the coalition offers Nigerians “a fresh breath of opposition” capable of challenging what it described as failures in governance.
“The hope of a credible alternative Nigerians have been yearning for has now risen with the coming together of these men of diverse calibres and backgrounds,” it said.
SEDEF pushes for people-oriented leadership
SEDEF said it remains committed to supporting progressive and democratic values nationwide.
“As a humanitarian pressure group and political machinery, we seek the emergence of a people-oriented, Afro-centric and democratic leadership across the country,” the statement concluded.

Ganduje not joining ADC, says aide
In a related development, former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has no intention of leaving the ruling party, according to his spokesperson, Edwin Olofu.
The clarification comes in response to mounting speculation that the former Kano state governor was preparing to defect to the ADC, barely two months after he resigned from the APC leadership.
Olofu dismissed the rumours as unfounded, stating that Ganduje remained loyal to both the party and President Bola Tinubu.
