FCT, Abuja - The former coordinator of the Tinubu/Shettima 2023 Presidential Campaign Council in Zamfara state, Senator Kabiru Marafa, has said he would take out at least one million votes from President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Legit.ng recalls that Senator Marafa dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) and hinged his decision on the ‘use-and-dump’ leadership style of President Tinubu.

Senator Marafa further stated the 2027 presidential election would determine the featherweights in Nigeria’s politics.

The former chieftain of APC made his stance known during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Marafa added that top politicians in Zamfara state are uniting against the APC because of the widespread discontent with the ruling party.

“Now, whether Mr President would win or not is a question of seeing, but I want to assure you of something today. I am going to deduct one million votes out of Mr President’s votes that he got in 2023. Mark my words. 2027 is going to determine who is a featherweight.
“Now, whether somebody said that I’m paperweight, I’m a lightweight; whatever I am, 2027 is going to determine who is a paperweight.”

Marafa accuses Tinubu of “use-and-dump”

The former Zamfara Central Senator, Marafa, accused President Tinubu of adopting a “use-and-dump” style of politics.

Marafa alleged that Tinubu failed to fulfil his campaign promise of reforming the APC’s internal reward system.

“People were not happy with the tail end of Buhari’s government. He promised that he was going to eradicate the concept of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. Only for him to entrench it, institutionalise it, and it became the state policy of the APC.”

Marafa discusses why north will reject Tinubu

Recall that Senator Marafa warned that the North may reject President Tinubu in 2027, citing neglect and worsening insecurity

He accused the APC government of sidelining outspoken northerners, ignoring key infrastructure, and deploying security only for elections.

Senator Marafa said Tinubu is not personally nepotistic but faults his government for unfairness, warning of a “use and dump” pattern with loyal allies.

Prophet mentions Tinubu's strongest pillar

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Prophet Abel Tamunominabo Boma said Nigeria's politics was "spiritual" and not physical, as some people thought.

Prophet Boma predicted President Tinubu’s reelection as Nigeria’s leader if he were able to consolidate the support he got from Nyesom Wike.
