A Nigerian pastor known as Major Prophet has made a series of bold predictions concerning the political climate leading up to the 2027 presidential election, warning of intensified witch-hunting against opposition figures.
In a recently circulated video, Major Prophet claimed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would increasingly target politicians, particularly those aligned with opposition parties.

He cited the recent invitation of former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Tambuwal by the EFCC over alleged corruption as evidence that his prophecy was already unfolding.
“These are the things that will play out ahead of 2027. There will be what we call witchhunting. EFCC will begin to chase politicians. The government is going to step up agencies to be used to torment opposition. They are going to dip their hands into the box to let the cat out. God has revealed all these to Major Prophet and more. I am not going to come to say things to you if the lord has not revealed it to me. Everything that is going to play out in 2027 has already been recorded,” he said.

The pastor’s remarks have sparked renewed debate over the role of anti-corruption agencies in Nigeria’s political landscape, with critics often accusing such bodies of being weaponised against dissenting voices. Tambuwal’s questioning by the EFCC has added fuel to these concerns, with some observers viewing it as part of a broader pattern of political intimidation.
Major Prophet’s prophecy, delivered in a tone of divine certainty, has drawn attention across social media platforms, where discussions about the fairness of Nigeria’s democratic processes continue to intensify.
As the country edges closer to the 2027 elections, political analysts say scrutiny of government actions and agency conduct will likely increase, especially in light of such public predictions.
